Meeting day: Second
Monday of the month at 7.30pm Kirkcaldy Floral Art Club was formed in 1956 to promote friendship through flowers. There are currently 60 members and meetings are held from September
to June, usually on the second Monday of the A Members' Night is held in February each year and the AGM is held
in June. Visitors are always welcome at meetings at a charge of £5.00. The Club took part in NAFAS Golden Fanfare Week (25-31 January 2009). Members manned a stall in Tesco, Kirkcaldy, where Isobel Wotherspoon created a lovely golden arrangement that was then taken to Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy for the remainder of the week. Smaller arrangements were made by other members and displayed in Kirkcaldy Library and the Adam Smith Centre.
At our meeting on 9 March 2009 Anne Cant, a trainee demonstrator and a member of Kirkcaldy club, gave a very entertaining an informative demonstration of "Memories". She depicted styles and told stories from the 1960s to the present day and the attached photograph shows her version of the 60s Knickerbocker Glory! |
